The city’s People’s Committee has asked the department to open a pedestrian area on Lê Lợi Street (extending from 23/9 Park to HCM City Opera House), which would connect with Nguyễn Huệ pedestrian street.

This pedestrian area would be near the metro station under construction.

Parts of Hàm Nghi and Tôn Đức Thắng streets are also expected to be pedestrian streets.

The walking streets on Nguyễn Huệ and Bùi Viện streets have been successful at attracting many visitors and tourists.
