A concert by a well-known Vietnamese pop singer was suddenly cancelled just two hours before doors opened last weekend.
Tuan Hung in an interview with reporters on the evening of October 5
The Wild Horse show by Tuan Hung was slated to take place at the Quan Ngua Sports Complex at 8 pm on October 5. However, at around 6 pm the same day, Ba Dinh District People’s Committee demanded the event be cancelled due to allegedly lacking fire safety certification.
The cancellation left Tuan Hung devastated. His wife said that she had never seen him so low-spirited.
Dau Thi Ngoc, a representative from Thang Long Show Company Communication JS Company which is the event organiser blamed the Quan Ngua Sports Complex management board.
The show cancellation has left Tuan Hung liable for losses of VND4-5 billion (USD181,818-227,272).
Ngoc said that the sports complex management board had admitted their mistake and would bear the entire losses. They will try to arrange another alternative show for the singer as soon as possible.
